Overview

Our client is hiring a Sr Network Systems Engineer who will be responsible for coordinating the construction, maintenance, and expansion of an organization's computer systems and networks.  Establishes and maintains network performance by building configurations, connections, and troubleshooting network problems.

Responsibilities

  • Deep Cisco knowledge- Must have exp with Nexus 7000
  • VMWare- building New Hosts from scratch
  • Citrix- general administration and application publishing
  • Actively supports a culture of lifelong learner, continuous improvement, mentoring, transfer of knowledge and service to the customer and co-workers
  • Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards
  • Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization
  • Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
  • Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information; managing projects
  • Ability to identify business needs and make suggestions regarding technical direction
  • Design and implement system security and data assurance
  • Create flowcharts, diagrams, and other documentation to reflect the networking and server environments

Qualifications

  • Highly service-oriented, reliable, responsible, self-motivated, and enthusiastic
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of clients and staff
  • Demonstrated ability and proven experience to lead teams or individuals productively, resourcefully and independently
  • Ability to evaluate and recommend critical systems, prioritize work, and determine solutions
  • Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, and policies
  • Knowledge of these technologies: Microsoft Office; Windows server and Active Directory related utilities; e-mail servers; SQL; VMWare; Citrix; networking technologies including Cisco router/switch administration; Ethernet and wireless networking and related protocols; VPN, remote access; SANS hardware installation and support; system security techniques and firewall administration; Internet and Web technologies
  • Travel as required, national and/or international
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Information Technology Management

Education/Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or a related degree, or equivalent education and work experience
  • Significant knowledge of or background in integrated online systems, LANs/WANs, telecommunications networks, and application software, preferred
