Overview

Our client, a growing, established IT consulting company, has an immediate need for a UX/UI Designer who can contribute to the design and development of engaging user experiences and build long term relationships with customers. The ideal candidate will thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem solving skills, as well as both independent self-direction and team collaboration.

 

Located in Canonsburg, PA, the company offers a friendly and collaborative team atmosphere, plenty of professional development opportunities and challenging, ever-changing projects. This contract-to-hire position will be a great opportunity for a motivated individual to become a key member of a dynamic organization. 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct usability research, leveraging research methods to objectively uncover the specific needs and expectations of the users in context.
  • Partner with clients throughout the creative process of generating, developing, and communicating new ideas.
  • Craft strategies for functionality within a desired scope.  
  • Evaluate existing products through the lens of user experience industry standards and provide well-founded observations.
  • Create content, interaction, and visual styles across a product or suite of products, making it easier to build and use.
  • Continuously research design and technology trends.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience designing for software, web applications, emergent technologies, consumer electronics and/or mobile devices.
  • Demonstrated understanding of human-centered design methodologies, including observing and understanding users, generating ideas and making them come to life.
  • Ability to collaboratively work with diverse groups of people  
  • Comfortable utilizing visual communication skills like sketching, to unpack complex concepts and ensuring everyone is on the same page
  • Exceptional design skills, from creating wireframes to production ready visual designs, as well as design language systems.
  • Proficiency with commonly-used UX design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, InVision app, etc.).
  • A solid understanding of Agile software development practices.
