Overview

Our Client, a family of world-leading brands serving the global plastics, recycling, and industrial heat transfer markets, has an immediate need for a Full Time permanent position. The Human Resources Generalist assists with human resources operations, specifically including proactive recruiting, employee on-boarding, and various generalist activities. The Human Resources Generalist role is responsible for sourcing qualified candidates, coordinating recruiting logistics, providing a full-scale orientation program to all new employees, and assists the HR team with strategic initiative. The Human Resources Generalist will have responsibility for our employee populations based in Niles, Illinois and Pinconning, Michigan. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources and is located in Niles, Illinois with travel and support of our Pinconning, Michigan. 

Responsibilities

  • Effective and efficient management of the day-to-day operations of the department including: recruiting support, new hire processing and orientation, exit management, employee relations, site specific compliance, employee training and development
  • Acts as a recruiter for all organizational resourcing needs including: proactive candidate sourcing interview planning and logistics, candidate tracking and rejection administration of Predictive Index, employment applications, and drug screening
  • Coordinates training and development activities, including possible grant administration
  • Participates in developing departmental goals, objectives and measurement
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (or related field)
  • Position requires three (3) to (5) years of relevant experience based on scope of position
  • Knowledge of human resources principles involved in day-to-day HR administration
  • Ability to interact and work with executive management on a regular basis
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in interpersonal skills including effective collaboration skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound reasoning and decision-making ability; strong analytical skills
  • Labor management in a manufacturing environment is a plus
