  • Overview

    Our client, a leader in their industry, is hiring a Data Loss Prevention Technician. This is a contract position located in the Pittsburgh area. This position is responsible for assisting with a review of internal user behavior to determine if activity is abnormal or part of existing practice using multiple tools. The ideal candidate will have experience with providing DLP subject matter expertise to the department leadership.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Provide guidance, recommendations, best practices, etc. for DLP operations.
    • Stabilize and optimize DLP system performance, including rules and reports.
    • Assist with DLP component upgrades, installs, testing and configuration.
    • Liaise with Engineering, Product Management, and others within Symantec on behalf of the customer.
    • Provide single point of contact and hands-on escalation and remediation for critical issues.
    • Respond rapidly to unplanned events, including afterhours for issues.
    • Proactively communicate relevant technical information and alerts on known issues, hot fixes, new releases, etc.
    • Provide regular status reports for critical incidents, projects and proactive services.
    • Keep the Account Team informed of major issues or new opportunities.

    Qualifications

     

    • Two or more years of security aspects of information systems, computer networking or telecommunications
    • Experience, knowledge and understanding of industry-accepted data processing controls and concepts as applied to access management and network security technologies, hardware, software, data, network communications, and people.
    • Working knowledge with compliance and regulation standards such as SOX, PCI, HIPAA
    • Working knowledge of operating system platforms, routers, web proxies, network protocols, and security architecture
    • Working knowledge of common attacks and vulnerabilities
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL, Oracle or competitive database platforms
    • Strong understanding of common categories and characteristics of malware

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science, preferred
