     Our Client, an industry-leading provider of innovative technology services to the communications industry, is currently seeking candidates for a Desktop Support Engineer role. This individual will provide prompt, efficient IT support to both on-site and remote employees, including the installation, configuration, and support of PC hardware, software, and peripherals.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Delivery of desktop support services for Microsoft Windows computer hardware and software.
    • Install, configure, and support PC hardware, software, and peripherals.
    • Collaborate with technical team to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
    • Imaging, configuring, and installing desktop computers, laptops, and peripherals.
    • Troubleshoot residential ISP and phone line issues for remote employees and contractors.
    • Actively monitor Service Desk for desktop and peripheral related trouble tickets, proactively responding to open trouble tickets and ensuring high availability and reliability to end users
    • Deliver prompt and effective user support, documenting issues and action taken in Service Desk system of record.
    • Create and maintain documentation of systems configurations, PC inventory, user systems, and continuously track and document issues with problem resolutions and recommendations to improve user support.
    • Develop and maintain collaborative and supportive relationships with the end-user community.
    • Proactively maintain and enhance the knowledge base, and document effective troubleshooting techniques and diagnostic tips.

    Qualifications

    • Five years of experience supporting Microsoft Office (2007 and newer) and Windows Desktop Operating Systems.
    • Demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP and UDP networking protocols.
    • Three years of experience successfully supporting MS Server 2008 R2 and newer, VPNs, and general networking.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of file transfer services and software a plus
    • Experience supporting Internet-based, remote users would be a plus
    • Must be able to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late night, and weekends as needed.
    • Must be physically able to lift and move up to 50 lbs (computer equipment).
    • Bachelor Degree in Information Systems (or related field of study) with 5 years relevant experience OR an Associate Degree with 10 or more years relevant experience.
