The A.C. Coy Company is currently hiring for an SAP Technical Lead position.  This role will be 100% on-site in East Chicago IN.  Ideal candidates will need at least 10 years of experience in technical development/basis lead roles with proven systems development experience specifically within SAP ERP Systems.  

Responsibilities

  • Technical Leader that supports the production environments for all SAP modules employed by the business
  • Understand the overall SAP direction
  • Ensure the modules supported and their integration points with other systems and modules are aligned with the SAP road map
  • Understand the SAP landscape and architecture to better maintain the environment and manage vendor relationships that provide managed service to support the SAP systems
  • Ability to lead a team of technical resource including developers and basis staff members 
  • Provide technical guidance, review transport listings, approve any infrastructure changes, and approve installs
  • Ensure sustainability of the SAP processes configured in these modules
  • Ensure all new developments conform to standards,  and ensure the standards are kept up to date
  • Hands on designing, specifying, configuring, and approving to move changes to production
  • Lead and perform technical mapping, gap analysis, and recommend the best way to address the gaps
  • Write and approve detailed technical specifications for workflow, reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms (WRICEF).  Ensure that the solution implemented in each phase is consistent with the overall direction and the end state
  • Author technical specifications at the level required for off-site ABAP or other technical development
  • Estimate the development effort required
  • Responsible for technical performance of developers working on SAP changes
  • Perform change reviews and promote change requests to production
  • Coordinate self and other technical developers along with communication and support with business users
  • Review and align with the IT teams to ensure accurate delivery of changes required by the business
  • Assign technical work to team members and perform technical workload balancing
  • Provide level 3 support for production systems and project implementations, as necessary

Qualifications

Education

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent

Experience 

  • 10+ years of experience in technical development/basis lead roles
  • Programming experience in SAP S/4 Hana 2021 or combined with older versions including ECC
  • Experience developing in ABAP, FIORI, UI5 and OData services, BTP, BAS
  • Expert knowledge of RFC’s, BAPI’s, BADI’s, BDC’s, User Exits, BRF+ and enhancement points
  • Experience writing outbound/inbound ABAP interfaces using IDOCs, BAPIs, performance tuning, RFCs to/from Middleware (IBM ACE or other middleware exposure is a plus) and flat files
  • Experience in developing workflows and writing reports in FIORI, ALV, using CDS views and SDA (Smart data access)
  • SAP Basis and security understanding:
  • Experience in SAP S/4 Hana 2021 or combined with older versions including ECC
  • Experience supporting FIORI Gateway, SCM, TM servers and databases
  • Experience supporting multi-level landscapes including
  • Experience providing support for Sap cloud solutions like C4C, CPS and IBP
  • Experience handling Adobe form related questions, and investigating runtime errors
  • WedIDE, BTP, BAS support experience
  • SAP user and engine license management
  • Exposure to GRC, CSI or similar software
  • HANA DB or Oracle knowledge for SAP applications
  • Experience working with vendors providing managed services for basis and security
  • Understanding of SAP infrastructure to be able to support infra teams as necessary

Preferred experience

  • Proven systems development experience specifically within SAP ERP systems
  • Technical leadership skills in IT environments
  • Ability to multi-task and strong time management skills
  • Four full cycle implementations or more (from blueprint to go-live)
  • Microsoft Office skills
  • IBM ACE Middleware experience
  • SAP upgrade and migration experience
  • Experience with ITIL concepts and processes
