The A.C. Coy Company has an immediate opening for a Drafter I position.  Ideal candidates will be responsible to provide complete, accurate engineering drawings and documentation for all company products with minimal supervision.  Candidates should have an Associates degree in Mechanical Drafting with at least two years of drafting experience/and or training.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and revise 2D and 3D mechanical drawings to include but not limited to detail, assembly, layout, schematic and diagram (electrical and fluid power), sales, parts list, catalog, fixture, and piping
  • Create 3D models and 3D assemblies
  • Convert manual drawings into electronic CAD files
  • Obtain and document necessary measurements or observations in the production area
  • Document engineering drawing information and revision history
  • Research SAP for BOM components to compile data for use in drawings
  • Review drafting tolerance, interference fits, machinability, drawing notes and Product specifications with Engineer when creating drawings
  • Create hydraulic or electrical schematics with Engineers input
  • Perform center of gravity, volume, mass and other physical property calculations using SolidWorks
  • Compare SolidWorks 3D model BOMs with SAP BOMs and verify accuracy
  • Convert 3D models to .STL files for additive manufacturing
  • Load and unload parts on 3D printers

Qualifications

Education

  • Associates Degree in Mechanical Drafting or drafting field 

Experience

  • Experience using a current version of AutoCAD and Solidworks is required
  • Experience in the fluid power industry and/or manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Experience using and applying Geometric tolerances on drawings
  • Knowledge and experience using a 3D printer
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Access, Word and Excel
  • Ability to read technical drawings/blueprints is required
