The A.C. Coy Company has an immediate opening for a Structural Engineer.  Ideal candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar with a minimum of 5 years' experience and a  PE Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and present schematic design proposals
  • Identify technologies to improve operational
  • Document design narratives & engineering analysis
  • Interpret customer requirements by reviewing specifications, sales documents, project drawings, etc. Insure design requirements match proposal and contract documents
  • Perform analysis and design of the structural framework for the company’s product line
  • Coordinate all work with the Manager of Engineering to incorporate structural / mechanical and electrical systems into the design
  • Resolve problems in the areas under his or her control that will impact schedule, accuracy and completeness
  • Provide assistance to Sales and Estimating Departments as needed to provide timely response to sales and proposal needs
  • Coordinate with manufacturing to insure proper flow of work through the plant
  • Coordinate with installation operations to maximize efficiency of both equipment and personnel, with emphasis on quality and safety

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred 

Experience 

  • Professional Engineer license is required
  • Previous experience in structural / mechanical engineering or other related fields
  • Familiarity with manufacturing designs or schematics
  • Proficient in Math, Calculations, Troubleshooting
  • Experience in CAD or Inventor
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
