The A.C.Coy Company has an immediate opening for a Plant Mechanical Engineer.  The Plant Engineer will provide engineering support to maintain continuous plant operations and high efficiency. This position serves as a key technical resource in solving problems relating to stationery and rotating equipment, covering daily plant needs as well as project responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a lead site technical resource for piping systems, stationary equipment, and rotating equipment
  • Provide technical expertise in the identification, investigation, and resolution of plant operating, safety, and design issues to ensure plant reliability and availability
  • Provide technical expertise to support safe and reliable plant operation and maintenance of components
  • Support maintenance and work management by resolving engineering technical issues within the work management process, including simple trouble shooting support
  • Implement solutions to continuously improve reliability and reduce maintenance cost

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering 
  • 10+ years of industrial plant experience working with rotating equipment, piping systems, and preventative maintenance
  • Working knowledge of pumps, fans, blowers, compressors, motors, and gearboxes
  • Proficiency in basic computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of industrial codes & standards (API, ASME, ANSI, OSHA, State)
  • Ability to accurately interpret technical drawings, blueprints and documentation

Preferred

  • Experienced with bearings (rolling & sleeve), couplings, mechanical seals, and pressure vessels
  • Experience with oil analysis, vibration analysis, outage planning, parts and machinery refurbishment, and re-engineering of parts
  • Specific knowledge of power plant operation and steam turbine generator sets.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical generation, transformer, and power distribution
