The A.C.Coy Company has an immediate opening for an Enterprise Application Architect for an onsite/hybrid role in Dallas, TX.  You will work closely with the product owners, business analyst, and development team to ensure we design and deliver a robust, scalable, and performant application utilizing the latest modern technologies and tools. You should have hands on software development experience and be adept at architecting solutions that meet all functional and non-functional requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Establish technology standards, guidelines, and best practices
    • These ensure consistency and alignment across various projects and systems
  • Anticipate future business needs and technological advancements. They create roadmaps guiding technology investments and adaptations
  • Staying informed about emerging technologies is essential. Assess new tools, frameworks, and platforms for suitability
  • Analyze business needs and translate them into technical specifications. Bridge the gap between business goals and technical solutions
  • Deliver comprehensive system blueprints and diagrams that visualize the architecture and aid communication and decision-making
  • Choose appropriate technologies, platforms, and frameworks to support system functionalities and scalability
  • Work closely with software development teams to ensure successful execution of architectural designs
  • Monitor project progress, address deviations, and ensure adherence to architectural guidelines
  • Communicate technical proposals and solutions to stakeholders, including business leaders and project managers
  • Facilitating discussions and resolving conflicts between different stakeholders’ expectations
  • Work with the QA team to conduct thorough testing and quality assurance procedures to identify and address performance issues and vulnerabilities
  • Implement best practices for system optimization, scalability, and fault tolerance
  • Mentor team members to enhance their technical skills and serve as the technical point of escalation
  • Establish technical standards and best practices for development and architecture
  • As the subject matter expert, stay informed about technology trends and evaluate their impact on the organization
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation
  • Lead initiatives to pilot new technologies and help assess their feasibility for adoption
  • Oversee the ongoing maintenance and evolution of the enterprise architecture.
    • This involves assessing existing systems, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring architectural integrity

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience as a technical architect with a strong background in system design and architecture
  • Proficiency in software development methodologies, programming languages, and database technologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Familiarity with programming languages like JAVA, JavaScript, SQL, and C#
  • Knowledge of operating systems (e.g., Windows, UNIX) and databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL)
  • Familiarity with project management and Agile development methodology. Certification is a plus
