The A.C. Coy Company has an immediate opening for a Service Technician in the greater Pittsburgh area.  Ideal candidates would need 2 years experience as a service or mechanical technician, diesel mechanic, or equivalent relevant vocational training

Responsibilities

  • Must help in keeping autonomous truck fleet safe, operational, and reliable
  • Inspect and certify the operational efficiency of truck by conducting routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs
  • Collaborate with Fleet Operations and respond to fleet blocking issues
  • Schedule preventative maintenance inspections and repairs with 3rd parties
  • Work cross functionally with Engineering & Hardware teams during vehicle intake, acceptance, and commissioning
  • Perform diagnostics using engine Original Equipment Manufacturer software or similar. (Cummins Insite, Diagnostic Link, Wabco Toolbox, Bendix, etc.)
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, and optimize resource utilization
  • Track, and record repair orders through the fleet maintenance system
  • Increase overall efficiency in trucking operations through continuous improvement initiatives
  • Must be willing to travel as needed, about 10-20%

Qualifications

Experience

  • At least 2 years of experience as a service technician, mechanical technician, or diesel mechanic; or have completed equivalent relevant vocational training
  • OEM training and/or ASE Certifications, preferred
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing modern CAN bus-based automotive systems
  • Must have experience working in highly technical environments
  • Must be flexible to work varying shifts and travel if required

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience working on Autonomous Vehicles
  • Understand 49 CFR Parts 379, 390 & 396
  • Current CDL with a driving record in good standing
  • Linux experience / Command line
  • Basic hardware networking
