The A.C Coy Company has an immediate need for an ISP Network Engineer role.  Ideal candidates need to have 10+ years of experience in networking, telecommunications, or related industry with a strong understanding of DWDM.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operational issues and anomalies affecting end-customer network performance
  • Assist in design of customer DWDM / Transport / IP network solutions; specify, upgrade and configure optical equipment, switches, routers and firewalls
  • Provide Tier-3 customer technical support calls, including occasional rotation covering 7x24 customer outages and NOC reported alarms
  • Administer ISP related functions such as using Juniper and Nokia routers, DNS, web servers, email servers, etc.
  • Manage advanced networking projects, including equipment specification, testing, proof of concept, and schedule management
  • Develop enterprise grade ISP, Transport and Managed Service solutions that support unique customer requirements
  • Create and maintain documentation and training for Engineering and Service Delivery teams
  • Collaborate with Sales Engineering to improve project workflow processes and meet with key stakeholders to discuss issues related to network design and implementation
  • Participate in new product development

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering. Vendor Specific Networking Certifications such as CCNA required

Experience

  • 10 Years experience in networking, telecommunications, or related Industry
  • Must have a Strong Understanding of Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM)
  • Understanding of optical fiber characteristics
  • Understanding programming languages such as Python
  • Experience with MPLS, BGP, iBGP, OSPF, preferred
  • Experience with Pseudo-wire and Metro Ethernet
