Director of Software Engineering

Location: Hybrid arrangement; Office located in Wexford, PA

The A.C.Coy Company is currently seeking candidates for a Director of Software Engineering role. This individual will play a key role in providing strategic, technical, and project leadership to a growing software engineering department. Our ideal candidate will have 15+ years of overall software engineering experience with 5+ years in a management or senior management role. Additionally, preference will be given to candidates with strong .NET development backgrounds and working knowledge of Azure DevOps.

• Provide strategic and technical direction to a software engineering group comprised of 4 teams, including direct supervision of 4 managers
• Prioritize and plan software projects and assist with general project management duties
• Ensure optimal utilization of both on-shore and off-shore resources, as well as external consulting services
• Implement effective internal practices and procedures for software quality assurance
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, making recommendations when appropriate
• Provide important input toward any additions, personnel changes, or hiring decisions
• Work closely with the leadership of other departments to determine how the software engineering group can best support continued growth and business needs
• Report periodically to the Executive Team on project status and general updates

Required:

• 15+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a management role
• Strong leadership skills, with an ability to monitor and support numerous technically-diverse projects in a fast-paced setting
• Excellent coaching and mentoring skills
• Significant experience working in a .NET development environment

• Working knowledge of Azure DevOps operations

• Strong software project management background including planning, development, and implementation

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Software Engineering, or a related field
• Any experience in a SaaS environment
