A.C.Coy is currently seeking candidates for an Optical Network Engineer role. This individual will serve as a technical leader and escalation point for complex network incidents and customer issues, responsible for advanced troubleshooting, lab-based replication of network events, and driving resolution of service impacts.

 

Our ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in networking or telecommunications and a strong understanding of optical fiber characteristics and IP transport principles.

Responsibilities

  • Work cross-functionally with Product Management, Engineering, and Service Delivery teams to create, enhance, and support scalable, high-performance services
  • Monitor and analyze network performance and operational anomalies affecting end-customer connectivity
  • Serve as high level of escalation for customer technical support and NOC-reported alarms
  • Administer ISP core infrastructure, including Juniper and Nokia routers, DNS, web servers, and email servers
  • Design and implement customer IP/Transport network solutions including routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Lead and manage complex network projects, including hardware specification, testing, proof-of-concept development, and scheduling
  • Document and train Service Operations teams on network systems and operational procedures
  • Develop enterprise-grade ISP and Managed Service solutions tailored to customer requirements
  • Partner with Sales Engineering to streamline project workflows and engage with stakeholders on solution design and implementation
  • Support the development and launch of new network products and services

Qualifications

Required: 

  • 5+ years of Engineering experience in networking, telecommunications, or a related industry
  • Strong understanding of optical fiber characteristics and IP transport principles
  • Ability to participate in On-call rotation for 24/7 escalation support

 Preferred: 

  • CCIE Certification
  • Specific experience with ISP Network Automation
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • Proven expertise in MPLS, BGP, iBGP, OSPF, QoS, and Metro Ethernet technologies
  • Additional vendor-specific certifications (e.g., JNCIP, CCNP, JNCIE)
